Steelers lose, but there’s no letdown on Three Rivers, One Show

City of Champions co-editors Matt Shetler and Matt Gajtka welcomed staff writer Zac Weiss to this week’s Three Rivers, One Show podcast, part of the Fansided Radio Network.

With the Steelers dropping a stink bomb at Heinz Field on Sunday, there was plenty to lament for Matt, Matt and Zac. Why did the defense struggle against the usually-inconsistent Chargers attack? Did Todd Haley turn away from the running game at the expense of Ben Roethlisberger, who made his return from injury? Does Mike Tomlin take the blame for the team’s unfocused effort at a critical juncture?

After tackling the Steelers, the three-man roundtable takes a look at the Pirates’ signing of reliever Jason Grilli and what that might mean for Joel Hanrahan, among other offseason implications. Gajtka delivers his NHL lockout update (spoiler: he’s still optimistic) and Weiss recaps the dueling City Games from last week, as Pitt won on the men’s side while the Duquesne women came out on top.

Finally, all three give their final thoughts on the week before the whirlwind show comes to an end. (Listen to archived episodes here!)
