For the second consecutive week the Pittsburgh Steelers play in a game with major playoff implications.

While last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens have left the Steelers playoff hopes on life support, the Miami Dolphins are in the thick of things in the crowded AFC Wild Card race.

The Steelers have won five straight meetings with the Dolphins dating to a loss in Miami on Sept. 20, 1998. They haven’t lost to them at home since Sept. 30, 1990, winning three in a row.

The importance of this matchup almost overshadows the return of former Steelers’ wide receiver Mike Wallace, who signed a big money contract with the Dolphins in the offseason.

Wallace hopes to show the Steelers they were wrong by not showing him the money while the Steelers want to show him first hand that they didn’t need him.
