When the 2014 NFL Draft continues on Friday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers may have some more surprises up their sleeve.

If selecting Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier wasn’t a big enough surprise in Round 1, who knows what direction Kevin Colbert and his staff will turn in round two.

Whatever direction they elect to turn, a former Steelers quarterback will announce the news.

Former Steelers’ quarterback Terry Hanratty will take the stage to announce the Steelers selection in the second round, which barring any moves, will come at pick No. 46.

Hanratty was the Steelers second-round pick (No. 30 overall) in 1969 and played with the Steelers from 1969-75.

There will be 32 NFL former players, one representing each team, will announce live on Friday, May 9, second-round Draft picks from Radio City Music Hall.  This marks the fourth year in which each selection in the second round is announced by a former player.

The list of players scheduled to make selections includes 11 Pro Football Hall of Famers, with five from the Class of 2014. Combined, these players have nearly 20 Super Bowl championships and 150 Pro Bowl appearances between them.
