The Pittsburgh Steelers released nine players on Tuesday morning, and the Turk will visit six more by late this afternoon.

The Black and Gold reduced their roster to 81 players and need to get to the league mandated 75 players prior to today’s 4 p.m. deadline.

Pittsburgh released running backs Jordan Hall and Miguel Maysonet, wide receivers C.J. Goodwin and Kashif Moore, tight end Eric Waters, safety Jordan Dangerfield, cornerbacks Devin Smith and Lewis Toler and linebacker Vic So’oto.

From The Clipboard: On the injury front, wide receiver Lance Moore and safety Will Allen were back at practice on Monday.

Meanwhile, linebackers Jason Worilds and Sean Spence did miss practice, but head coach Mike Tomlin said the injuries they suffered against Philadelphia did not appear serious.

Spence said his knee injury was just a sprained PCL, and not anything more serious. He expects to miss just this week’s preseason game with the Carolina Panthers.
