Last week I went 9-7 with my NFL picks, which is not great, but not bad. Can I do better this week?

What I can tell you is that this week’s selections will be made a different way for a very simple reason. Earlier this week, co-editor Matt Gajtka said he would not write anything NFL related until something changed within the shield.

I agreed with his article’s reasoning and as a result for more than 24 hours have not written, tweeted or thought anything about the NFL. With that said, I still may have shown more effort than the Pittsburgh Steelers did on Thursday, although by reading this piece, you did as well.

My pics normally are done with a slide devoted to each game. That will not be the case this week. What follows this week is barely a paragraph on who will win each game. No bells, no whistles, just picks and I am concerned that is giving the NFL too much credit.

So here are this week’s winners: Miami, Washington, Tennessee, Arizona, New England, New Orleans, Atlanta, Detroit, Tampa Bay, Seattle, Houston, Green Bay, Denver, San Francisco and Indianapolis.

At the end of this weekend, I will see if I have a changed heart and how the picks will be presented. I can only hope that if these picks fail, an independent investigation into how I make my picks will not follow.
