Pitt Football: Panthers Release 2015 And 2016 Football Schedules

The Pitt football team released dates for its non-conference and Atlantic Coast Conference opponents in 2015 and 2016.

Next fall, the Blue and Gold’s non-conference foes are Youngstown State on Sept. 5 at Heinz Field, then they load up the bus for Akron on Sept 12, head out to Iowa on Sept. 19 and host Notre Dame on Nov. 7 along the North Shore.

The contest with the Fighting Irish will be the seventh meeting between the programs since 2008.

Coming to Heinz Field in 2015 from the ACC is Miami, North Carolina, and Virginia, with Louisville as a rotating crossover opponent.

When Pitt hits the road in the ACC, they will take on Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Syracuse.

Looking ahead to 2016, the Panthers non-conference schedule goes as follows: Villanova is at Heinz Field on Sept. 3, Penn State comes to the Steel City on Sept. 10, they head out to Oklahoma State on Sept. 17 and the Thundering Herd of Marshall comes to the Burgh on Oct. 1.

Pitt will head to West Virginia to play Marshall in 2020. The Panthers four game home-and-home series with the Nittany Lions runs through 2019.

The Blue and Gold will welcome Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Syracuse to town in 2016.

Also two years from now, the Panthers’ GPS will be set for Miami, North Carolina, and Virginia with Clemson as the rotating crossover opponent. Dates and times for all of the ACC games in 2015 and 2016 are still to be announced.
