Pittsburgh Pirates: Joel Hanrahan, Andrew McCutchen Headed to 2012 MLB All-Star Game
By Matt Shetler

As just announced on the TBS All-Star selection show, Joel Hanrahan and Andrew McCutchen will represent the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2012 MLB All-Star Game on July 10 in Kansas City.
Left off the team by National League manager Tony LaRussa were pitchers A.J. Burnett and James McDonald, who are both deserving to be on the National League roster.
Both Hanrahan and McCutchen will be making their second career and second consecutive All-Star appearences. Cutch won’t be starting the game but could fill in for the injured Matt Kemp in the NL starting lineup. However with LaRussa managing the team, I wouldn’t count on that.
The National League starters look like this:
C- Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants
1B- Joey Votto, Cincinnati Reds
2B: Dan Uggla, Atlanta Braves
3B- Pablo Sandoval, San Francisco Giants
SS- Rafael Furcal, St. Louis Cardinals
OF- Matt Kemp, Los Angeles Dodgers
OF- Carlos Beltran, St. Louis Cardinals
OF- Melky Cabrera, San Francisco Giants
Both Burnett and McDonald should be on this team and still could depending how the week plays out, but their initial snubs seem a bit ridiculous.
Neither Burnett or McDonald made the final five vote as well.
