Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin made the announcement after Thursday’s practice, Roethlisberger’s second consecutive pain free practice.

“Really, the only question we can’t answer is taking a hit,” Tomlin said after practice. “Obviously that will be answered in the stadium on Sunday.”

“I am extremely comfortable with his ability to work the field both vertically and horizontally. He has great velocity on his ball. We’re ready to go.”

Roethlisberger’s return is welcome news, as the Steelers went only 1-2 while the two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback was sidelined.

Offensive coordinator Todd Haley chimed in saying Big Ben moved around good and had no problems making all the throws he needs to make.

“I’m good enough to get out there,” Roethlisberger told USA TODAY Sports after Thursday’s practice. “I felt good.”
