March Madness infects this week’s Three Rivers, One Show
By Matt Gajtka
March has been good to Pittsburgh sports fans, with the Penguins perfect month overlapping postseason basketball from Robert Morris and Pitt, plus Pirates spring training. City of Champions co-editors Matt Shetler and Matt Gajtka explore those teams and more on the latest Three Rivers, One Show, part of the Fansided Radio Network.

The show starts with Shetler’s firsthand account of RMU’s historic upset of Kentucky in the NIT. Where does Tuesday night’s scene rank on his all-time sporting events witnessed in person? Matt and Matt then take a look at the surging Penguins, whose winning streak reached 10 with an emotional win over Washington at Consol Energy Center. Should they tread lightly at the upcoming trade deadline with the team peaking?
Later, the guys analyze Pitt’s chances at an NCAA tournament breakthrough, even though this isn’t one of Jamie Dixon’s most talented teams. Also, the battle for the final roster spots in Bradenton heats up; who has the upper hand to come north with the Pirates?
Shetler and Gajtka then wrap up the show with their hoops-focused Final Thoughts. Listen to Three Rivers, One Show on the audio player below:
