As mentioned before, Miller won’t be around when the season begins, so someone will have to make plays from the tight end spot.
There’s a good chance the Steelers draft a tight end, but in the meantime a lot will fall on Paulson’s shoulders.
Matt Spaeth is a nice addition as a blocker and red-zone receiver, but Paulson is a player who can make a difference. He is a balanced talent like Miller and can be effective in either role.
If Paulson steps up and wins the competition to replace Miller, it could help soften the blow from Miller’s loss.
Miller will almost be impossible to replace, but someone needs to produce at the position.
In the short-term, that guy needs to be Paulson.
