Pitt Panthers Football: Panthers’ 2014 Football Schedule Released
By Matt Shetler

The ACC announced their 2014 football schedule Wednesday afternoon, and this season the Pitt Panthers won’t be opening up with the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles.
The Panthers will begin with a non-conference game against Delaware Aug. 30, with their first ACC game scheduled for Friday, Sept. 5 against Boston College.

Pitt has home league games against Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Syracuse and Duke. Their road ACC games are trips to North Carolina, Virginia, Miami and Boston College. The Eagles are Pitt’s rotating crossover opponent next season. Syracuse was that opponent this past season.
In addition to the Friday night game against the Eagles, the Panthers will also host Virginia Tech on Thursday, Oct. 16 for their only two non-Saturday games this year.
Times have not been announced yet, but that at least gives Paul Chryst’s team a minimum of two games that will be nationally televised.
Pitt will look to improve from a 7-6 finish last season as Chryst enters his third season on the sidelines.
