Johnson was a decent pick here based on his versatility.
He played and started at least one game at every spot on the offensive line so along with Kelvin Beachum, the Steelers have a pair of linemen that they can plug in at any spot along the offensive line when needed.
Johnson is a 6’5” offensive tackle, weighing in at 297 pounds.
He was a two-year captain at Vanderbilt who started all 26 games at LT 2012-13, allowing just two sacks.
Johnson is pretty quick and light on his feet. He has decent hands and can get to the second level pretty effortlessly.
However he isn’t built for power and needs to seriously bulk up. He’s likely a depth piece that will be likely used on the inside.
At the end of the day Johnson may never start a game for the Steelers, but should prove to be a value depth piece.
