Robert Morris Colonials Vs Lafayette Leopards Game Time, Live Stream And Preview

The Robert Morris University Colonials are on the road for the second week in a row as they travel across the Keystone State to Easton to take on the Leopards of Lafayette College.
It is just the second meeting between the two programs. Their first match-up was in Sept 2012 at Joe Walton Stadium as the Colonials came away with a 31-28 victory on a 33-yard field goal by senior placekicker Greg Langer with 19 secconds remaining in the contest.
RMU is seeking their first victory under new head coach John Banaszak having dropped the first two games 29-10 to Eastern Kentucky and 16-13 to North Dakota. Meanwhile, Lafayette would like to claim its first win this season in their home opener as the Leopards lost 27-14 to Sacred Heart on the road last week.

RMU’s Banaszek has not been afraid to give the younger players an opportunity giving a total of 18 Colonials their first-career starts in the opening two games, nine on offense and nine on defense. In all, 29 players have made their collegiate debut this season.
For Robert Morris, the ground attack is in the capable hands of freshman running back Rameses Owens, who set the RMU freshman single-game rushing record with 199 yards on 39 carries at North Dakota. His efforts earned him the Sports Network National Freshman of the Week honor.
In two games, starting quarterback Luke Brumbaugh, a sophomore from McDonald, Pa., has completed 41 of 75 for 371 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. His favorite target has been senior wide receiver Duane Mitchell who has hauled in 15 catches for 123 yards and one touchdown.
The Colonials defense, despite having eight new starters this season, has allowed just two touchdowns on its opponents 10 trips to the red zone in two games.
Sophomore linebacker Nic Lamica is the leader with 11 solo tackles and assists on eight more for a total of 19 this seaaon while senior linebacker Mike Stojkovic, who had a fumble recovery against North Dakota, has contributed nine solo tackles, assisted on eight for a total of 17 stops. Junior defensive back David Taylor has two interceptions so far this season.
Lafayette head coach Frank Tavani is in his 15th season at the helm of the Leopards football program. Last season, they went 5-7 overall, but 4-1 in Patriot League play which allowed Lafayette to claim its seventh league title and advance to the NCAA FCS Playoffs for the fourth time in team history.
In the loss last week to reigning Northeast Conference champion Sacred Heart, the Leopards offense had a rough week putting together just 98 rushing yards and 131 passing yards for a total of 229 yards on 70 plays.
Sophomore quarterback Drew Reed completed 19 of 39 for 131 yards and one touchdown, but it was his three interceptions that tipped the game to the Pioneers. Junior tight end Brian Keller was the leading receiver with five receptions for 68 yards and the one touchdown.
It was senior running back Ross Scheuerman who made the highlight reel with his 90-yard kickoff return in the first quarter that put the Leopards on the scoreboard. It was the second kick return for a touchdown in Scheuerman’s career and the longest of his career. He finished up with 10 carries against the Pioneers for 65 yards.
The Leopards defense was led last week by junior linebacker Mark Dodd, who had three solo stops and assisted on eight more for a total of 11 tackles. Fellow junior linebacker Chris Brockman contributed two solo tackles and assisted on eight more for 10 total tackles on the day. Also, junior defensive lineman Darren Wright is not to be overlooked as he had a sack against SHU.
Robert Morris remains on the road to close out the September part of their schedule as they travel to Welcome Stadium in the Buckeye State on Saturday, Sept 20 to take on the University of Dayton Flyers at 1 p.m.
