Pitt Panthers Vs. Miami Hurricanes GameDay, TV/Radio, And Preview
By Larry Snyder
Come into Week 14, the University of Pittsburgh Panthers are looking for their sixth victory on the season, and to achieve bowl eligibility. They travel to the Sunshine State tonight to take on the University of Miami Hurricanes in Atlantic Coast Conference action.
The Blue and Gold (5-6, 3-4 ACC) seek to finish the season on a two-game win streak, having defeated Syracuse last week 30-7 at Heinz Field. They are tied for fourth place in the ACC Coastal Division with tonight’s opponent, Miami.
The Hurricanes (6-5, 3-4 ACC) are coming off a 30-13 loss on the road to the University of Virginia Cavaliers. Miami has 19 seniors who would like to go out on a winning note this evening.

Weather Channel Online Forecast: Partly Cloudy this evening with a low of 67 and 10 percent chance of rain.
Sophomore running back James Conner has rushed for 1,600 yards this season. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Erie native injured his hip in last week’s victory over Syracuse. If he does play, he needs only one rushing touchdown to break Tony Dorsett’s season record of 22.
In the event that Conner is unable to go, coach Paul Chryst will turn to Chris James as the main back. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound freshman ran for 122 yards on 19 carries against Syracuse.
In the past two contests, the Pittsburgh offense has been successful in moving the chains as they converted 42 percent of their third downs.

Head coach Al Golden’s squad owns a 5-1 record at home this season, and Miami has outscored its opponents 232-121 in six home contests.
The Hurricanes ground game is led by Duke Johnson, who has accumulated 1,431 yards on 200 carries this season. The 5-foot-9, 206-pound junior running back needs 34 more yards to become Miami’s all-time career leading rusher.
When the Hurricanes do put the ball in the air, watch for senior tight end Clive Walford, who is leading the team with 40 receptions for 627 yards.
My Prediction: Pitt Panthers 30 and Miami Hurricanes 27 – I think sophomore quarterback Chad Voytik buys just enough time with his feet in the pocket tonight to find sophomore wide receiver Tyler Boyd in the end zone and bring home a victory.
