Duquesne Dukes Football: 2015 National Signing Day Results

There was anticipation and celebration Wednesday for college football fans as it was National Signing Day. The hard work of recruitment was in the books as young men across the country made their choice on which college they would attend and play football for this fall.

Coach Jerry Schmitt of Duquesne University announced the addition of 18 student-athletes to the 2015 fall roster.
Schmitt, who has been at the helm of Duquesne since March 2005, said on the university’s web site, “We’re really excited about this recruiting class. I’m confident that each member – in his own way – will contribute to the three-pronged drive for excellence we strive for in our program that includes performance on the field, excellence in the classroom and service in our community.”
The 2015 campaign represents the Dukes eighth as an associate football-playing member of the Northeast Conference where they have been co-champions two of the past four seasons. They concluded the 2014 season 6-6 overall, and 2-4 in the NEC.

The Red and Blue returns 14 starters, seven on offense and seven on defense, as well as its place kicker for 2015. Schmitt’s squad opens four weeks of spring practice on Monday, March 9th. The annual spring game is set for Saturday, April 11th at Rooney Field.
