Mike Tomlin‘s squad concluded 2014 with a record of 11-5 and captured the AFC North Division crown in the National Football League.
The Black and Gold are projected to have the toughest strength of schedule this season. Pittsburgh has nine contests against 2014 playoff teams. They also have match-ups with the Chiefs and the Chargers, who finished last season with winning records, but did not make the playoffs.
What it adds up to for the Steelers is that they will play a total of 11 games against team who wrapped up 2014 on a winning note. Their strength of schedule for 2015 is .579. Meanwhile, the Bengals check in at .563, the Browns at .543, and the Ravens at .539.

Highlights: Last season the bye week came in Week 12 for Pittsburgh and this season, it moves back only one week to Week 11. The later bye week is good for the team to get over any nagging injuries.
The tailgating will be good in November as the Steelers will be home for three of the four contests that month.
The month of December and January will see the Black and Gold at home just twice and on the road for the other three match-ups.
For now, the Steelers have five games in prime time. The breakdown is two on Thursday, two on Sunday, and one on Monday night. Keep in mind that contests towards the end of the season can still be flexed to Sunday Night meetings.
Pittsburgh will be without the services of Le’Veon Bell at the beginning of the season. The 6-foot-1, 244-pound running back was suspended last July for three games by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy stemming from his marijuana DUI arrest. While the Michigan State product has appealed the length of the suspension, he will miss at least the regular season opener against the Patriots. Of course, so will former Steelers/current New England running back LeGarrette Blount, who was arrested with Bell.
