PODCAST: Talking Women’s World Cup & Pittsburgh Native Meghan Klingenberg

Pittsburgh has a heightened stake in this year’s Women’s World Cup, as Gibsonia native and Pine-Richland High School graduate Meghan Klingenberg is a key member of Team USA.

Joining me to discuss this on City of Champions Radio was Hal Kaiser, who covers Klingenberg and the professional Houston Dash for the website Keeper Notes.

Kaiser, who is currently in Canada for the World Cup, analyzed Klingenberg’s role with the American team, which won its first match of the tournament earlier this week.

We also went over the World Cup at large, especially Team USA’s quest for its first trophy since 1999. Can the Americans be considered the co-favorites, or has the rest of the world caught up to a degree that makes those expectations unrealistic?
