Brandon Saad hijacked the NHL news cycle on the eve of free agency, as the promising young winger was traded from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite their favorite team missing out on the Pittsburgh-born Saad for the second time – he was also available in the 2011 draft, when he went in the second round – maybe Penguins fans will one day appreciate the day that a local product dominated hockey talk across the continent.
