It was my pleasure to host my debut show on theRiver’s Edge radio network, based out of the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Millvale.Gike’s Got Gamewill air every Thursday live from 8-9:30 p.m., with goal to provide intelligent, alternative sports talk.
I was fortunate enough to welcomeJames Santelliof Pittsburgh Magazine and WKBN-TV to discuss the Pirates’ anticipated power surge in Detroit, his experience at the Riverhounds-D.C. United match last month, and the idea of the Steelers and Heinz Field hosting a Super Bowl. James joined the show right from the start and stayed in studio for the first 35 minutes.
At the one-hour mark,Brian Metzerof Penguins Radio 24/7 andDKonPittsburghSports.comcalled in to fully analyze the Penguins’ attention-grabbing acquistion ofPhil Kesselfrom Toronto. We dug into all the details of the six-player deal, plus how Kessel might fit in alongside eitherSidney CrosbyorEvgeni Malkinfor the next several seasons.
A big thanks to River’s Edge proprietorBrian Crawfordfor engineering the show and chiming in with his fiery opinions occasionally throughout the 90 minutes.
