FanSided Fan Of The Year: Hey Pittsburgh, Are You The ONE?
By Larry Snyder
The challenge from FanSided has been issued, both far and near. The Pittsburgh Sports Nation is there for their teams.
The noise is there along the North Shore at PNC Park when Andrew McCutchen makes another diving catch in center field or Starling Marte hits a home run into the river.
You know you are in Steelers Country not only at Heinz Field, but when Ben Roethlisberger and Company are on the road, the Black and Gold always has the advantage.
Everyone is ready to rock CONSOL Energy Center when the red light goes on for Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and the Penguins.
We take pride in the Blue and Gold of Pitt, the Red and Blue of Duquesne, and the Blue and White of Robert Morris University. We have the backs of our Panthers, Dukes, and Colonials.

The cheering for the Point Park University Pioneers, the Carlow University Celtics, the Carnegie Mellon University Tartans, and the Chatham University Cougars matters too. We are always ready to stand up for the Burgh.
Now you can show your passion to the rest of the world. You see, since 1954, the staff and writers at Sports Illustrated have awarded the Sportsman of the Year award to “the athlete or team whose performance that year most embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and achievement.” That got the folks at FanSided thinking and they have come up with an award for the most important part of any sporting event, the fans.

According to FanSided, What qualifies someone to be the FS Sports Fan of the Year? It is a person who exemplifies dedication, integrity and “Fansmanship” all for the love of the game.
Good Fansmanship means showing your support for the teams you follow along with the communities they represent in a positive way. It is your efforts that bolster and keep all that is good about sports alive and well. Each and every fan has a story that needs told. FanSided wants to know about your experience.
