Reactions to Antonio Brown’s TD celebration
By Joe Lipovich
Antonio Brown jumped feet-first into the goal post after a punt-return touchdown last night, and the internet did not disappoint.
What Antonio Brown was thinking last night?
When Brown flew crotch-first into the Heinz Field goal post on Sunday after returning a Pat McAfee punt for a touchdown, the football world was pretty stunned.
Not only was Brown responsible for igniting the Heinz Field crowd on Sunday night, he also had a hand in stunning the referees, who were sort of obligated to throw a flag on the celebration out of sheer ridiculousness.
Brown said that this celebration was a failed attempt at a different touchdown celebration.
“I tried to stick it at the end with the goal post and it wasn’t something that went very well,” Brown told The Associated Press (per WPXI).
With the punt return touchdown, Brown becomes the second player in Steelers’ history to return four punts for touchdowns. Brown had one of his best games of the season in the 45-10 Steeler victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night.
The Central Michigan product caught eight passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns as well as the 71-yard return touchdown and subsequent touchdown “dance.”
The first thing that came to mind after the score was Brown’s health. He ran at the goalpost at full speed and bounced straight off like a super ball. Due to the amount of injuries that have been inflicted on the black and gold this season, losing Brown would be the last thing the team needs if it is to make a playoff run.
