As one of the best catching duos in the game last season, Francisco Cervelli and Chris Stewart look to lead the Pirates to success once again in 2016.

In a 2015 season full of memories for the Pittsburgh Pirates, one duo stood out more than any other on the field. That was the catching tandem of Francisco Cervelli and Chris Stewart.

Together they were able to bring stability to the catching position after the departure of fan favorite Russel Martin. They came up with big hits when needed and were very reliable behind the plate. Each had their share of memorable moments throughout the 2015 season.

For Cervelli, who could forget his grand slam against the Cardinals in game one of the double header:

And Chris Stewart added many clutch base hits late in ball games to help give the Pirates the advantage. All in all the duo combined to help bring Pittsburgh 98 wins in a season that ultimately ended in a wild card loss to the Chicago Cubs.

The duo is back again in 2016 and ready for another great season. With all the question marks that remain on this team, catching is the one position where the Pirates are all set and ready to go.

We will look at both players 2015 seasons and then take a look ahead to what they can bring in the 2016 season. With both Cervelli and Stewart being eligible for free agency after the season, we will bring up who could be next in line to take over the catching duties in 2017.

They say a catcher is what keeps the team together, for the Pirates in 2016 they have two reliable men to hold down the fort.
