Jay Lee, Baylor Wide Receiver

As teams hit the seventh round, the draft becomes more about adding depth than filling an immediate need.  With Martavis Bryant’s future in doubt, taking a flier on a wide out this late would be ideal for the Steelers.  One guy they have been impressed with is Baylor receiver Jay Lee.

Like Bryant, Lee was out shined by fellow teammates which included Corey Coleman, who could be a first round pick.  Losing 2 quarterbacks in 2015 put Lee even more behind the eight ball to stand out.   He finished his Baylor career with 101 catches 1700 yards and 15 touchdowns over 3 seasons.

At the Senior Bowl, he showed off his tremendous catch range, soft hands and speed.  Lee ran a 4.53 at his Pro Day, impressive for receiver that stands 6’2 and weighs 215.  He met with Steelers officials at his Pro Day.

Lee is a borderline draft pick at this point and could still end up a Steeler as an undrafted free agent.  But if the team is as high on Lee as it seems, the Steelers could scoop him up early in the seventh round.
