Steelers: Final Mock Draft
By Rich Donahue
Harlan Miller, Southeastern Louisiana Cornerback
A corner the Steelers could target on Day 3 is Southeastern Louisiana’s Harlan Miller. This small school prospect was a named first team All-Southland corner 3 times during his career, leaving the school as 4th all-time in interceptions with 11.
Miller is a fluid athlete, who excels in man coverage and off-coverage. He played a lot of press coverage in college, jamming receivers down the field. Miller shows his quickness when reacting on the ball, especially on balls thrown in front of him. His technique and mechanics translate great into pros despite playing against FCS competition.
He does over compensate playing the press, grabbing receivers if he gets beat drawing flags and even getting burned after losing his step. The upside of Miller is he plays with a chip on his shoulder, playing very physical in run support.
If the Steelers do wait until Day 3 for a corner, Miller can make an impact not only at corner, but as a returner as well. The Black & Gold could take a chance on this high upside corner if they do not select a cornerback on Day 2.
