Steelers: Final Mock Draft
By Rich Donahue
Rees Odhiambo, Boise State Guard/Tackle
With concerns about the depth on the offensive line, the Steelers could add a versatile lineman in the middle of this draft. Boise State’s Rees Odhiambo was interviewed by the team early in the draft process. He played left tackle in college, but has been projected to move inside to guard in the NFL.
Injuries have pushed Odhiambo to the back end of the draft. He started at least 8 games for the Broncos over the past 3 seasons, earning second team All-Mountain West in 2014 and first team All-Mountain West in2015. Odhiambo was a preseason candidate for the Rotary Lombardi and the Outland Trophy in 2015, but he missed the final 3 games of the season with a broken ankle.
He is quick off the snap and plays with a lot of grit and toughness, a true grinder of a lineman. Odhiambo has an athletic build showing off his feet and agility in pass protection. If the Steelers look in Round 5 for offensive line depth, the Boise State product may have his name called by the Black & Gold.
