Steelers: Final Mock Draft
By Rich Donahue
Jay Lee, Baylor Wide Receiver
Jay Lee was overshadowed for much of his time at Baylor, competing with first rounder Corey Coleman for targets. He finished his career with 101 catches 1700 yards and 15 touchdowns, setting career highs in yards and touchdowns in 2015. This was even with the Bear losing their passing identity after injuries to the quarterback position.
At the Senior Bowl, Lee impressed showing off his tremendous catch range, soft hands and speed. During his Pro Day, he ran a 4.53, a very good time for a guy 6’2 and 215. The Steelers officials witnessed in person, meeting with the senior in Waco after his workout.
Lee is a borderline draft pick with the chance of ending up undrafted, . The Steelers may choose to wait until after the draft to bring in the receiver. But with the skill set he has, don’t be surprised if the team grabs and stashes Lee on their practice squad.
