Jamie Dixon 2003-2016

Coaching Record at Pitt: 328-123

2009 Naismith Coach of the Year, 1-time Big East Tournament Champ (2009), 2-time Big East Regular Season Champ (2004, 2011), 11 NCAA Tournament Appearances, 2012 CBI Tournament Champions

Like Dan Bylsma was with the Penguins, Jamie Dixon was one of the most criticized coaches in the history of Pittsburgh.  He is also the greatest coach in Pitt basketball history.  After taking over as head coach following the departure of Ben Howland for UCLA, Dixon took the Panthers to heights the program had never reached in program history.

In his tenure, he led Pitt to 11 NCAA appearances including 2 trips to the Sweet Sixteen and 1 trip to the Elite Eight.  Dixon will be remembered most for his success in the old Big East.  The Panthers captured two Big East regular season titles and one Big East tournament title while also winning the CBI Tournament in 2012, the lone season he missed the NCAA Tournament in the Big East.  When he left for TCU in March, Dixon was the all-time winningest coach in Pitt basketball history.
