Slow Down Jacoby Brissett

The Colts were dealt an Earth-shattering blow when Andrew Luck retired this preseason, but in a shocking turn of events, Luck’s backup, Jacoby Brissett, has come in and made an immediate impact. As the Steelers have shown, losing your franchise quarterback can have unpredictable results, but with Brissett, Indianapolis has seamlessly transitioned from one franchise QB to another. On the season, the Colts’ quarterback has put up 14 touchdowns to just three interceptions and has made some incredible throws. Indianapolis can score against anyone, and Brissett deserves plenty of credit for playing so well.

Given how dangerous he’s been, the Steelers must do everything possible to slow him down. Pittsburgh’s defense is better than any other unit Brissett has played against this season, and that should be on full display. From a pass-rush that is hitting its stride to a secondary that has been one of the most improved units in the league, the Steelers have a group that no offense wants to play against. Brissett has been impressive, but this week brings a challenge that will push him to the limit.

This isn’t going to be an easy task, but it’s not an impossible one for the Steelers to pull off. Solid defense has been the key to Pittsburgh’s recent turnaround, and that’s a trend that should continue this week. Against a quarterback that has shocked the world with how effective he has been under tough circumstances, the Steelers must slow him down to have any chance at victory.
