As we get deeper into November, the schedules for the Robert Morris University Colonials are featuring more important matchups.

There have been a lot of changes recently on the campus of Robert Morris University, and in 2019, one of those changes is the magnitude of the games RMU’s athletics teams are playing. The Colonials are in the midst of a very important stretch of home games, specifically in volleyball, football, and basketball.

The RMU women’s volleyball team added two victories to its impressive resume over the weekend by beating Central Connecticut State and St. Francis Brooklyn to improve its conference record to 14-0, and its overall record to 24-3. The Colonials volleyball team will compete in its final regular-season games next weekend, before entering Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament play.

In football, the Colonials hosted the Duquesne Dukes in a battle of teams that were undefeated in conference play. Robert Morris came out on top by a 41-21 score. Two defensive touchdowns guided the way for the Colonials, as they improved to 5-0 in NEC play. Next week, the team will travel to Central Connecticut State to face off against the NEC’s other unbeaten football team.

Finally, this coming week marks the inaugural basketball games at RMU’s new UPMC Events Center. The Colonial men will host the Pitt Panthers on Tuesday, while the reigning NEC champion Colonial women will take on Youngstown State on Wednesday.

It is an exciting time for the Colonials, as all of the headlines of this busy week are a long time in the making. The football team is competitive for the first time in years, and the new Events Center not only will open the Colonials’ basketball seasons with a bang, but it is already hosting one of the most impressive teams on campus in women’s volleyball.

Robert Morris may not be the biggest school, but its athletic teams are making a big splash in November!
