It’s only been a matter of hours since the Los Angeles Kings held the Stanley Cup high, but before an offseason move has been made and before a player has been drafted, the favorites to win the Cup in 2013 has already been named.

That’s the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Bovada.com (via ProHockeyTalk) has released odds for next season’s champion and the Pens top the list as 7-to-1 favorites.

Here’s a quick look at the complete odds:

"Pittsburgh: 7/1Los Angeles: 11/1Chicago, NY Rangers, Detroit, St. Louis, Vancouver: 12/1Boston, Philadelphia: 14/1Nashville: 18/1San Jose: 22/1Anaheim, Buffalo, Tampa Bay, Washington: 25/1New Jersey: 30/1Florida, Toronto: 35/1Colorado, Dallas, Ottawa, Phoenix, Winnipeg: 40/1Calgary, Carolina: 50/1Edmonton, Montreal: 60/1Columbus, Minnesota, NY Islanders: 75/1"

While  it doesn’t completely erase the sting of another first round playoff exit, it’s nice to know that at least according to the oddsmakers, the Penguins could be back on track for the 2012-13 season.

Before that though, it will be an interesting couple of weeks for general manager Ray Shero as both Sidney Crosby and Jordan Staal are entering the final years of their deals and of course there’s the draft, which is to be held at the Consol Energy Center.
