Penn State’s new program takes center stage on this week’s Gospel of Hockey
By Matt Gajtka
The Gospel of Hockey doubles down on local women’s programs this week, as Penn State assistant coach Casey McCullion
joins Matt Gajtka and Larry Snyder for today’s episode.
Just like the men’s team, the PSU women are in their first Division I season, playing in the College Hockey America conference. Matt and Larry ask McCullion, who specializes in goaltending, how the program is coming together in Happy Valley and how the community is embracing the sport.
What have been some of the challenges of building a team from the ground up? How has goaltending changed since she started playing the position? How does McCullion use her playing experience at Holy Cross to advise the student-athletes currently under her watch? Matt and Larry discuss these questions and more with Casey.
The guys also deliver their comprehensive Local Hockey Report, as it was a big weekend for both Robert Morris teams. Thanks for listening to the Gospel of Hockey, presented by City of Champions!
