Trib Total Media Penguins beat reporter Josh Yohe (Twitter) joined Matt Shetler and Matt Gajtka on this week’s edition of Three Rivers, One Show, part of the Fansided Radio Network and flagship podcast for City of Champions.

Of course, the topic du jour was Penguins training camp, as the team has less than a week to assemble its roster in preparation for Saturday’s opener at Philadelphia. Josh relayed his observations from the first two days of official practices, from power-play formations and Eric Tangradi skating on Evgeni Malkin’s line to defense pairings and the buzz around Pittsburgh about the team.

Matt, Matt and Josh also discussed Sidney Crosby’s chances of putting together a legendary season and the Penguins’ readiness to handle the abbreviated schedule. City of Champions writer Zac Weiss then hopped aboard for the second half of the program to talk about hockey’s heightened stature in Pittsburgh and Pitt Panthers basketball.

The guys wrapped up the show with rumors of Jeff Karstens re-signing with the Pirates and everyone’s final thoughts from the NFL action last weekend.
