The Pittsburgh Penguins are on the road to the playoffs, but what do they have to improve over the regular season’s final two weeks? Matt and Matt take a look at that, plus the projected recovery timelines of Sidney Crosby, James Neal, Evgeni Malkin and Paul Martin. They also address the tremendous contributions of Pascal Dupuis and the upcoming week, which features matchups with Montreal and Boston.
Shifting to the Pirates, Shetler and Gajtka discuss the offense’s dramatic turnaround, powered by Starline Marte’s great start. However, there are problems for the Bucs, most notably starting pitching. What’s wrong with James McDonald, and can the Pirates survive until Francisco Liriano and Charlie Morton rehab? Also, what’s the team’s level of patience with Pedro Alvarez and Russell Martin?
Lastly, Matt and Matt deliver their Final Thoughts, focusing on last week’s Frozen Four and the Steelers’ upcoming draft.
