With Paul Chryst and the Pitt Panthers very busy on National Signing Day 2014, it’s time to take a closer look at exactly what the Panthers came away with.

I already have taken a closer look at the first six recruits to sign earlier today, now it is time to continue the process.

The next six begin with a bit of a local flair.

WR Elijah Zeise, North Allegheny High School, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Zeise was a three-year starter for state powerhouse North Allegheny. He was recruited as a wide receiver, but ultimately could end up at safety.

If the name sounds familiar, he is the son of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Pitt beat writer Paul Zeise.

Zeise stands 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, he is rated as a three-star player by Rivals and had other offers from Arizona, West Virginia and Temple.

After playing defensive back for his first couple years in high school, he made the switch to wide receiver as a junior and started to put up big numbers.

In his first year as a starting receiver for North Allegheny, Zeise caught 23 passes for 677 yards and four touchdowns, averaging nearly 30 years per reception.

The Panthers need depth and talent at the WR position and Zeise could turn into a playmaker quickly into his collegiate career:

LB Quintin Wirginis, Fox Chapel High School, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Wirginis was the third player from the Pittsburgh area to sign and is one of the lower-end commits.

He missed his senior year of football with a foot injury, although he is playing basketball right now.

Being that he didn’t play this year, I don’t have too much on him except he wasn’t rated by Rival or Scout. Despite that fact, he did have other offers from Temple, VMI and Robert Morris:
