If he would choose to attend Pitt, he would be a part of a potentially lethal defensive backfield alongside incoming freshman, Jordan Whitehead.

Not just that, but he would fit into an ideal scheme under first year coach, Pat Narduzzi, and defensive coordinator, Josh Conklin. The scheme is a bump-press coverage that utilizes instincts and athleticism, a role Hamlin fits into to a “T.”

No matter the coach, Pitt has a track record of studs on the defensive side of the ball. To name a few currently in the NFL: Darrelle Revis (a former WPIAL man himself), Aaron Donald, Jabaal Sheard, and K’Waun Williams.

Defense simply runs through the city, and it doesn’t quite matter the sport.

Do I even need to mention that he would have the opportunity to play at home?
