Following last weeks announcement of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds signing an affiliation agreement with Columbus Crew SC, many Hounds followers are wondering what players will join their team.

Although the Steel Army should be overall very pleased with the agreement, some are worried about the negatives of the affiliation. Any long term fan of the USL team knows that their partnership with the Houston Dynamo in 2014 ended poorly, with players from the Dynamo constantly being brought in and out of the organization, making it hard to develop good team chemistry.

With Crew SC though, that is much more unlikely to happen. Their team is youthful and don’t often get hurt, providing little to no reasons for call ups on that end. The Crew also has developed a stable franchise, with dedicated players to the team, so roster transactions are unlikely to be large from them.

With Columbus reaching the MLS Cup Final, it’s no surprise that the team has talented individuals, which gives them the ability to add depth to their franchise. This could, and by all means should, make for some incredibly talented young stars to play in Pittsburgh in this upcoming season, so let’s take a look at some of the prospects that you may see in 2016.
