Pittsburgh Steelers: Penguins crowd creates incredible moment for Shazier
By Derek Snyder
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, Ryan Shazier, received a huge ovation at the Penguins game on Tuesday night. Watch the incredible moment here.
When Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, Ryan Shazier, went down against the Cincinnati Bengals in December, everyone knew something was terribly wrong. Not only did it look like the former Buckeyes superstar badly injured himself on the tackle, but everyone began to panic when Shazier struggled to move his legs, even the slightest bit.
After heading to a hospital immediately from the game, Shazier was diagnosed with a severe spinal injury, which caused him to lose feeling in his legs. Needless to say, after this information was made public, everyone began hoping and praying Shazier would simply make it back to normal life, and walk, on his own, once again.
Since then, Shazier has regained the feeling in his legs and has been able to walk; with some assistance. Still, we’re hearing more and more positive news about Shazier, and his potential of walking onto Heinz Field again one day – even if it means he’s on the sideline for good.
That being said, all of us have seen the city of Pittsburgh wrap their arms around Shazier over the last two months, but the Pittsburgh Penguins created an unforgettable moment for the Steelers linebacker on Tuesday night.

Again, what an incredible moment for Ryan Shazier and the city of Pittsburgh. This is the type of thing that brings a community together and gives the Penguins major credibility around the sports world. Heck, no one could’ve written a better storyline for Tuesday night than this.
Who would’ve ever thought Shazier would be able to stand less than two months after his awful spinal injury? Nevertheless, I guess it’s time we all stop talking about what he can’t do, and start talking about what he can do.
