With Jimmy Graham about to hit the free agent market next month, should the Pittsburgh Steelers consider adding him to the team?

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking at every possible personnel scenario this offseason in attempt to make it back to the AFC Playoffs in 2018. Whether that be Le’Veon Bell’s potentially humongous contract or possibly adding another player to their young defense, it’s clear this team is still a few pieces away from winning their seventh Lombardi Trophy.

With that said, the good news for teams like Pittsburgh is that every offseason gives franchises an opportunity to bring in different personnel. Needless to say, with a very attractive free agent market in 2018, the Steelers have a great shot of bringing some elite talent.

For example, Seattle Seahawks tight-end, Jimmy Graham, will be testing the waters throughout the month of March. With Pittsburgh still looking for impact players, does Graham make sense for the black and gold in 2018?

Hear me out, I totally understand Graham brings an extremely talented receiving option at the position, and would definitely help Pittsburgh’s offense in the red-zone; however, he is tremendously average when it comes to run blocking. If the Steelers commit to paying Le’Veon Bell this offseason, I’m not sure it makes sense to bring in a tight-end who isn’t willing to put his body on the line.

At least with Jesse James, the Steelers coaching staff knows he will do whatever it takes for the entire offense to be successful. James may not be the best receiving tight-end in the league, but he fits what Pittsburgh wants to do on offense.

Not to mention, a player such as Graham will come with a heavier price tag.
