The Pitt basketball program is hosting the Louisville Cardinals on Sunday, February 11. Take a look at the game’s preview and predictions below.

After another tough loss for the Pitt basketball program on Thursday night, the Panthers are getting set to host the Louisville Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. These two conference-foes met in early-January, with the Cards pulling out a decisive 77-51 win. Needless to say, Panthers head coach, Kevin Stallings, needs to change the game-plan for this weekend’s contest.

Sitting with an extremely embarrassing 0-12 record in conference play, Pitt only has six more opportunities to erase that goose-egg. That said, things won’t  get any easier for the Panthers down-the-stretch, as they still have to face Louisville, Boston College, Florida State, Wake Forest, Virginia and Notre Dame.

It doesn’t take a college basketball expert of figure out this Pittsburgh squad could end the 2017-2018 without an ACC win.

Game Info:

Date: Sunday, February 11th

Start Time: 1:00 PM

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Stadium: Petersen Events Center

TV: ACC Network

Predictions:

As far as predictions go, I don’t foresee anything going in the Panthers favor on Sunday. When Pitt traveled to Louisville in January, they were out-rebounded 42-29 and turned the basketball over 15 total times. While the Cards aren’t nearly as good as they’ve been in the past; unfortunately,  they are a lot better than the Panthers are right now.

Not to mention, the Cardinals are scoring nearly 15 points more per game and averaging nearly twice as many blocks than Pitt – courtesy of ESPN. We already know the Panthers are in for a long afternoon, but it seems this match-up against the Cards may be too much for them to handle once again.

Still, let’s be honest – we’ve seen stranger things before in college hoops. The Cardinals are good, but they aren’t elite whatsoever. Who knows, maybe the Panthers will get hot from beyond the arch and pull off the upset?
