2. Tomlin knows what it takes to win the Super Bowl

Did you know, only eight active coaches have won the Super Bowl as an NFL head coach? Doug Pederson, Bill Belichick, Jon Gruden, John Harbaugh, Pete Carroll, Mike McCarthy, Sean Payton and Mike Tomlin are the only current head coaches who’ve been lucky enough bring home a Lombardi Trophy as the top-dog on their team’s coaching staff.

You may be asking, why does that matter? Well, with some tough criticism being thrown Tomlin’s way this offseason, Steelers fans need to understand their coach is among the league’s “elite” leaders.

Even though Pittsburgh has more Lombardi Trophies than any other franchises in the NFL, people need to realize expectations can sometimes be faulty. Heck, in the 52 years that the league has hosted the Super Bowl, the Steelers have only won it six times, and as it turns out, that’s still better than anybody.

I understand that Tomlin needs to make some better decisions during games, but he’s brought the Steelers to the big game two different times. You can say he won with Bill Cowher’s players, but let me remind you, the Steelers won the title two years after Cowher had retired.
