Re-drafting the Pittsburgh Pirates’ drafts from 2014-2017
Re-drafting the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 2015 draft — only the first and second rounds.
Pirates original pick: Kevin Newman at 19 overall
Solid hitter, with good speed. Yet, will never be a player to take the Pirates over the top.
Redraft pick: Walker Buehler at 24th overall to the Dodgers
Yeah, if you follow baseball I don’t need to explain. A future rotation of Keller, Buehler, and a healthy Taillon is what dreams are made of. But we’ve said that before about a young trio of pitchers…
Pirates original pick: Ke’Bryan Hayes at 32 overall
I am a little skeptical if the power will ever come, but he really could be a multiple time all-star with his combo of offense and defense.
Redraft pick: Ke’Bryan Hayes
Austin Riley was available, but the Pittsburgh Pirates’ horrid defense the past two seasons makes me want a future gold glover like Hayes.
Pirates original pick: Kevin Kramer at 62nd overall
Looks like a bench bat, especially with the Pirates where he’s blocked by Newman, Tucker, and Hayes.
Redraft pick: Brandon Lowe at 87th overall to the Rays
That’s Brandon Lowe, the all-star. He is a solid player who can do everything.
