Remain Consistent

When it comes down to it, the Browns are probably more talented than the Steelers, so why does Pittsburgh have a better record? When looking at both teams, it simply boils down to one thing: consistency. The Browns have been wildly unpredictable. One week, such as their early-season win over the Baltimore Ravens, the Browns can look like a team with all the answers. In that win, the offense was creative and explosive and the defense held Lamar Jackson in check as well as anyone has all season. Since then, however, the Browns have won just a single time, against a Bills team that isn’t as good as their record would suggest.

On the other hand, the Steelers may have started the season slowly, but they have essentially been the same team all along. The offense isn’t exciting, but Mason Rudolph has played pretty well for an unprepared second-year guy, and his ability to avoid turnovers has been huge. The defense has, of course, been phenomenal and that’s been the key to the Steelers’ success. They aren’t a flashy team, but their style has led them to second place in the division, and that’s more than the Browns’ roller-coaster performance has led to.

For a Pittsburgh Steelers team that is looking to continue their four-game winning streak and continue their chase for a playoff position, all it may take is consistency. The Browns have shown a propensity for sabotaging themselves and that will likely once again be the case in Week 11. As long as they play their brand of football, the Steelers will be fine.
